The Isles of Scilly’s new website www.visitislesofscilly.com was launched on 12th May. Six weeks later it won an award from the most prestigious distributor and direct marketers of British brochures, Carrier Direct for its intuitive home page and ease of navigation.
The new website is the Isles of Scilly’s most powerful ally – the focal point of our marketing strategy, because at the end of the day, everything we do to promote the islands as a destination always comes back to our website. There is no getting away from it!
A recent marketing survey which looked at how our visitors first engage with us proves this point in full. No less than 81% of our visitors first engage with Scilly via our website. Visits to the new website were up 26% on last year (more than 100,000 visits) in the first 9 weeks since launched date.
VisitIslesofScilly.com has been designed with the specific needs of visitors in mind. Increasingly, (more than 50% already) they are using mobile technology to visit the website. So, whether you are using a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC, the quality and user friendliness is second to none. The new website also allows us to utilise and monitor some of the most advanced forms of target marketing available, i.e. Google Re-marketing.
