If you’re passionate and knowledgeable about Scilly, articulate and friendly, then the Islands’ Partnership would like to hear from you! We're seeking to recruit a number of volunteer Ambassadors to support Scilly’s Cruise Ship “Meet & Greet” Programme. You will work with the core IP team to welcome passengers to Scilly both onboard visiting cruise ships and provide on shore support, as necessary, for passengers disembarking at St. Mary’s Quay.
With 46 cruise ships and 17,000 passengers expected this season, Ambassadors would need to be available on both weekdays and occasional weekends between 8th April and 19th September. Once recruited, the volunteers can select the days and dates that suit them best.
“We’re looking for Ambassadors who are knowledgeable and well versed in a range of subject areas such as life on Scilly, walking routes, and information relating to local businesses,” says Amanda Pender, IP Tourism Coordinator who is leading the recruitment drive. “But above all, they need to appreciate the importance of the visitor experience and be an enthusiastic advocate for Scilly.
